What is Invisalign?

Do you want the benefits of braces without the burden of uncomfortable and unflattering metal brackets? Invisalign is a subtle teeth-straightening solution with removable aligners that are individually manufactured for your teeth.

Invisalign is the discreet way to straighten teeth

The Invisalign treatment is an alternative to metal braces and has become very popular for those that desire a more inconspicuous straightening process. Invisalign involves a series of virtually invisible plastic aligners specifically prepared to fit your teeth. Your Invisalign aligner will be removed and replaced every two weeks, adjusting as your teeth do.

This form of orthodontic appliance is ideal for patients who:

  • Participate in public speaking/singing/acting or conduct meetings or presentations for their work
  • Desire a more discreet treatment
  • Want a comfortable and flexible treatment

Living with Invisalign

Invisalign is the lifestyle friendly teeth straightening treatment. The aligners are virtually unnoticeable so it is relatively easy to wear them for the recommended 20-22 hours a day. Cleaning and flossing your teeth is exactly the same process as without them, since the aligners are removable. You are able to clean the aligners by simply washing them under warm water and give them a quick brush.

As the aligners are changed fortnightly, you will need to come in to The Dental Studio for follow up fittings and to receive your new set of aligners. However, The Dental Studio will generally give you enough aligners in advance to cover 4 to 8 weeks depending on your specific treatment plan.

Straighter teeth are healthier teeth

Having straight teeth is not only for aesthetics. Straighter teeth mean there are no hard to reach places when you are brushing and flossing. You are more likely to clean your teeth properly when you have straight teeth, meaning you are less likely to form decay and damage.

Straight teeth also relieve any uneven pressure that comes about from uneven bites and teeth. Uneven pressure can result in wearing down and weakening of teeth which leads to cracks, chips or in extreme cases tooth loss.

Straightening your teeth with Invisalign means you can improve the aesthetic and function of your smile virtually invisibly while maintaining comfort and hygiene.
